Registering, Fees and Places
Allocation of Places

A waiting list of parents seeking a place at Badgers Nursery is maintained throughout the year, generally places are allocated on first come first serve basis, however, where the demand is greater than availability, places will be allocated at the discretion of the Nursery Manager. Where it has not been possible to offer the places requested your details will be placed on a waiting list for increased sessions, if and when any vacancies become available these will be on a first come first served basis.

Fees

Nursery Fees are laid out in the Fee Structure.

As the cost of running the Nursery increases year on year it is inevitable that Nursery Fees will also increase. Wherever possible these increases will be kept to a minimum.

Information on the collection of fees will be given to you at the beginning of your child`s placement.

If your child is absent from Nursery on days where sessions have been booked (whether because of illness, holiday or unplanned changes to arrangements) full fees must still be paid as the Nursery is unable to recover expenses by offering places to other children. No fees are due for Nursery closures.

The Nursery closes promptly at 5.30pm, if you are going to be late collecting your child please inform the Nursery as soon as possible, we will impose a late pick up fee of £5.00 for each 15 minutes or part thereof on persistently late callers. If you wish to discuss your child`s day in Nursery with a member of staff you must arrive at least 10 minutes before the end of session.

The submission of a signed Admission Agreement is considered to be acceptance of the offer of a Nursery Place, if you should then fail to take up the place offered you will be liable for one month`s fees in lieu of notice.

Arrivals and Departures

Please make sure that a member of staff is aware that your child has arrived- we are required by Ofsted to record children`s arrival and departure times for safety regulations. Please would parents respect the opening and closing times of the Nursery. When collecting your child please remember to make sure that someone has recorded their departure time. Your child can only leave the Nursery with someone who is over 18 and known to the Nursery Staff, indicated on the collection sheet. In the event of an unknown person collecting your child it is important both they and the Nursery are given a password to ensure your child`s safety.

Settling into Nursery

We would recommend that you help your child to settle to Nursery by attending an introductory visit. Each child is different and some children will find it easier to settle into Nursery than others. This is an important time for children, parents and staff. Should you have any queries or concerns about this process or your child`s starting date please do not hesitate to contact any of the Nursery Staff.

Withdrawal of Children from the Nursery

If you wish to withdraw your child from Nursery, or reduce the number of sessions attended, one month`s written notice is required.

In situations whereby the Nursery Manager feels the Nursery is unable to accommodate the on-going/future needs of your child, this will be discussed with you. We reserve the right to require the withdrawal of any such child from the Nursery. In this case the Nursery Manager will work with you and other relevant agencies to identify an alternative placement.

Additional Sessions

If you require a one-off additional session please give as much notice as possible, when you will be asked to complete an extra booking form. Wherever possible we will try to accommodate your needs but this may not always be possible because of the demand for places. Fees for extra sessions are charged at the usual rate. If the cost of the sessions is less than £50.00 you are expected to pay when booking, otherwise we will invoice you separately. The sessions are payable whether the place is used or not. Please make cheques payable to Badgers Nursery.
